High/Medium Velocity Water Spray System

Product Information

  • The High Velocity Sprinkler Systems are installed to extinguish liquid fires with a flash point of 65°C (150°F) or greater. The system uses three quenching principles: emulsification, cooling, and suffocation. Applying these rules results in the fire being extinguished in a few seconds.
  • Medium velocity water spray systems are installed to control combustion and provide cooling and/or protection from such hazards where extinguishing is not always possible or even desirable, for example in the event of a fire.

High Velocity Applications

The most common application of high-speed water spray systems:

  • Transformers, oil-filled power plant equipment.

  • Turbo generators and other oil boilers, and fuel extinguishing tanks.

Medium Velocity Applications
  • Fires involving flammable liquids with a flash point below 65°C (150°C)

  • These 60°C systems are also sometimes used in power plants, coal transporters, cable tunnels, etc.

  • Oil boilers, fuel extinguishing tanks.

It offers supplemental protection for the under-protected gap between the fixed installation systems and the fire extinguishers.
